GAD Reform - Government of Myanmar delegation Switzerland study tour

to support the delegation to gain an understanding of the Swiss system of government and its key pillars, which are: federalism; the rule of law, and; direct democracy, public participation and consultation, including minority rights. Through developing this understanding, the delegation will be provided with insights, inspiration and ideas that will support GAD reform and the development of a decentralisation policy.

As part of Switzerland’s support to the local governance reform through the Local Governance Donor Coordination Group (LGDCG), two key activities are outlined:

1. Support to the second GAD Reform Framework Workshop, scheduled in August'2019 in Nay Pyi Daw.

2. Convening of a study tour for high-level GAD and government officials to Switzerland, scheduled in October,2019.
